What did we do?
What's been bothering them?
Gigaset is most known for manufacturing wireless phones. Unfortunately that market has been shrinking considerably as of late, which is why they ended up pivoting towards smart home and related communication devices. The problem, however, is they struggle to reach new customers past their existing base and make smart home as a concept more attractive in general. Potential customers are also having a hard time finding the right information on their website, quickly.
How did we fix it?
We need to address what's at the core of this challenge: Gigaset's shopping and product discovery experience for smart home appliances. This required a complete design and experience overhaul of their product pages, as well as a new landing page, and marketing pages for both security and comfort product subcategories. An ideal scope for a design sprint, which is exactly what we did.
What are the results?
The next step was validating the landing pages we built. This will allow Gigaset to figure out which angle to play, and determine which context has the most appeal to attract more customers. Basically we've defined two major benefits of smart home appliances: added comfort and security. We then set up a series of ad campaigns leading to their respective landing page. It's still early days to talk significant results, but the cost-per-click of ads showcasing comfort-related benefits such as door and window sensors was significantly lower compared to security-related ads' CPC rates.
Here’s what the final product can do!
What's showcased below is output of the design sprint, parts of which have then been transmuted to Webflow-based web pages for testing purposes.
An all-new main marketing page.
Gigaset's current smart home offerings could do with a new general marketing page that's refreshing and with a clear offering, and engages users to explore as well. Here's a sneak peek of the new main landing page we'd designed.
Focused landing pages.
Next we went ahead and built two sub-pages, aimed to explain how smart home appliances can fulfil a certain need customers may not even yet realize they have. We focused on the added sense of security and comfort a smart home ecoystem can offer.
